Twelfth Night
October 2003 at Urban Stages
Written by William Shakespeare • Directed by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer

If Musicke be the food of Loue, play on,/Giue me excesse of it: that surfetting,/The appetite may sicken, and so dye.

For saying so, there's Gold:/Mine owne escape vnfoldeth to my hope,/
Whereto thy speech serues for authoritie/The like of him. Know'st thou this Countrey?

Andrew: Sir Toby Belch. How now sir Toby Belch?
Toby: Sweet sir Andrew.

"Faith, I can cut a caper."

Maria: You are resolute then?
Clowne: Not so neyther, but I am resolu'd on two points
Maria: That if one breake, the other will hold: or if both breake, your gaskins fall.

As there is no true Cuckold but calamity, so beauties a flower

Looke you now, he's out of his gard already: vnles you laugh and minister occasion to him, he is gag'd.

What's a drunken man like, foole?

The honorable Ladie of the house, which is she?

Euen so quickly may one catch the plague?/Me thinkes I feele this youths perfections/
With an inuisible, and subtle stealth/To creepe in at mine eyes.

But you sir, alter'd that, for some houre before you tooke me from the breach of the sea, was my sister drown'd.

I left no Ring with her: what meanes this Lady?/Fortune forbid my out-side haue not charm'd her:/She made good view of me, indeed so much,/That me thought her eyes had lost her tongue,/For she did speake in starts distractedly./She loues me sure, the cunning of her passion/Inuites me in this churlish messenger

Three merry men be wee.

O Mistris mine where are you roming?

Out of tune, sir!

Mistris Mary, if you priz'd my Ladies fauour at any thing more then contempt, you would not giue meanes for this vnciuill rule; she shall know of it by this hand.

O peace, now he's deepely in: looke how imagination blowes him.

Now is the Woodcocke neere the gin.

Toby: Wilt thou set thy foote o'my necke.
Andrew: Or o'mine either?
Toby: Shall I play my freedome at tray-trip, and becom thy bondslaue?
Andrew: Ifaith, or I either?

You haue said sir: To see this age: A sentence is but a cheu'rill gloue to a good witte, how quickely the wrong side may be turn'd outward.

Dieu vou guard Monsieur.

Cesario, by the Roses of the Spring,/By maid-hood, honor, truth, and euery thing,/I loue thee so, that maugre all thy pride,/Nor wit, nor reason, can my passion hide

Sweet Lady, ho, ho.

Why how doest thou man?/What is the matter with thee?

Aye, to bed sweetheart!

Heere's the Challenge, reade it: I warrant there's vinegar and pepper in't.

Thou comst to the Lady Oliuia, and in my sight she vses thee kindly

Hold sir, or Ile throw your dagger ore the house.

Duke: Come, away.

Olivia: Whether my Lord?
Cesario, Husband, stay.

If nothing lets to make vs happie both,/But this my masculine vsurp'd attyre:/Do not embrace me, till each circumstance,/Of place, time, fortune, do co-here and jumpe/That I am Viola
