Mushroom in Her Hands • January 28, 2004 at The Red Room

Written by Anne Phelan • Directed by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer

Featuring: Jacob Grigolia-Rosenbaum, Chris Catalano,
Rachel Eve Moses, and Jessica Chandlee Smith

Producers: Sharon E. Cooper and Nick Moore

Mushroom in Her Hands is a wonderfully tart play inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Told through a series of vignettes featuring encounters with fantastical creatures from Wonderland, the play explores the sexual and intellectual awakening of a young girl. The classic theme of the student passing the master is central to Alice's gradual recognition of what she really wants.

Milk Can produced Mushroom in Her Hands as part of our Spring 2005 Mainstage.

Resolution • June 23, 2004 at Emerging Artists Theatre

Written and Directed by ML Kinney

Featuring: Matt Klan, Jessica Chandlee Smith and Kirsten Walsh.

Producer/Dramaturg: Anne Phelan

With an intriguing use of narrative, this play blurs the line between love and obsession. Rose's solitary life is thrown into turmoil when she meets Ben and his wife, Diane. These three characters set the corners of a lover's triangle that spins out of control.

Original Music by Nick Moore

Assistant Directors: Bethany Larsen and Bobbi Masters

Producer: ML Kinney

Featuring: David Birnkrant, Rebecca Miller,

Aristophanes' classic tale of a man bent on restoring peace to his war torn country certainly still resonates with us today. This modern adaptation deals with many of the issues surrounding war, not the least of which is how those who profit by war succeed in keeping peace in abeyance.
