Rent one hour of rehearsal space
Whether it's our Mainstage productions, Scene Herd Uddered Workshops or Ten-Minute Festival, each of these endeavors requires hours of rehearsal. For example, our Mainstage shows use 30 hours/week of rented rehearsal space.

Outfit an actor
Whether shopping at H&M, renting from the Costume Collection, or scouring the thrift shops, we can generally costume one actor in a modern dress show for $50.

Pay an actor's salary
"There's no business like show business." Actors (union and non-union) receive $4/day for the four-week rehearsal process and the run of the show. Our actors truly come to work for the love of their craft.

Sponsor a Scene Herd Uddered workshop
Scene Herd Uddered provides playwrights, directors and actors with the opportunity to work on a new play, new concept for a classic play, or even experiment with new forms of theatre. Your donation covers renting a performance venue, printing and mailing the publicity materials, and providing the artists with a modest budget with which to rent rehearsal space, buy props, make photocopies, or obtain whatever else they need for their work.

Buy a vowel (and some consonants too)
Words are the basis of all that we do. Whether it's scripts, programs, or newsletters, we use the printed (and photocopied) word to get our message out. We can distribute six months worth of words for a mere $700.

Pay fifteen of the people you don't see
The director, playwright, set designer, lighting designer, costume designer, sound designer, composer, stage manager, assistant stage manager, assistant director, running crew, board operators, and production assistants all make the show possible. The small stipends we pay them can't possibly thank them enough for all of their hard work. You can pay fifteen of these crew members for only $2100!

Did you know that you can make a donation of goods to The Milk Can Theatre Company?

We are always looking for office supplies and equipment, furniture, clothing for costumes, and items to use as props, as well as items for our annual auction. Here are some things that we are specifically looking for at this time...

• full-sized copier
• computer, computer programs and computer components -- especially Mac
• electrical equipment such as power strips and industrial extension cords
• clothing, hats and wigs -- especially Elizabethan period
• free or cheap rehearsal space
• tools -- especially screw guns, hammers, circular saws, and jigsaws
• building materials such as lumber and screws
• paint and painting materials such as rollers and brushes
• office supplies such as paper, pens, and paperclips
• office chairs
• desk or large table
• in-kind donation of printing or copying
• printer cartridges
